Which enduro tyre???
« on: May 24, 2010, 05:42:21 pm »
Ok, first time that I need to buy a tyre for the plastic bike.  Busy changing to a 18' rear rim.

I've heard that Kenda makes a nice enduro tyre and Maxxis.  I ride mostly on rocky terrain and will occasionally ride sand at Macassar/Atlantis.  Budget is a obvious concern as the CR is just a toy, I don't race.

The Heidenhau K74 is good as well, dunno if they are available yet though. Been testing one for almost 5 months and it has done mixed dirt/tar for almost 3000k now, still has 9mm tread left! :deal:

Ek het vir jou 'n nice 18" tyre hier, barely used.

Fanks, rim ja, XR 18 x 2.15, wag net vir speke.

Oh ja, Enduro World mag did a review of the Mitas tyres, doesn't sound bad. Anybody tried them?

The Heidinau should be good judging by all the ds peeps using them.

Gideon Joubert said, the mitas gives them good miles, but is terribly thin?
Will take a pic of the tyre quickly

My 2 cent

The Mitas is available in quite a few different models. The C-16 is a fantastic tyre and won the Montague national enduro Silver Class. Then the C-18 (soft intermediate) which has a much thicker carcass and is tough as nails! The C-20 (intermediate to hard) is great for hard pack area's and that extra bit of life! check it out on www.mitas.co.za .

Also like the C-20 as on site, you get them in 18x120?  The 110 makes me nervous in the rocks :-\

The C-20 110/100-18 RRP R611. I have been using the C-18 same price it seems to grip in the loose rocks and sand a bit better however it wears a bit quicker as well. The 120 is only available in the C-18 RRP R671 ea. C-16 is a bit cheaper in 110 RRP R540.
