Thanks MJ - great write - up.
This bike is not close to my budget, but if it was it would certainly be contender after this report. The only thing left now is to give the bike two years of field work to see what the riders have to say.
And congratulations to Yamaha for seeing the value of getting a member of WD to do such a report, I am sure they are not regretting it.

Is it comfortable enough to do 600km+ gravel trips.
On the long gravel trips what do you think would fail, fall off or break.weak spots in general.
what type of warranty do Yami offer.
Thanks again and to Yamaha :thumleft:

Shot for the review MJ there are some professional journalists out there who could learn from you how to write a bike review. My first impression was that the ST1200 was a pretender but now will definitely give it a second look when I get the chance and am in market for replacement for my GS.

Great review MJ... time to seriaasly consider an upgrade.. I suspect availability is going to be a challenge for quite a while though.

I don t know, you buy one drazil I will test it for you. I have not broken my GS yet so I am going to wait and see how the ST prooves itself over time. You should maybe have a look at it, MJ report says a lot of positives for the bike if it has warranty etc similar to BMW it could be a contender.

Very good report MJ.

One of those beauties is being fitted with a set of TKC’s tomorrow for a sand ride on Sunday. Yamaha, KTM and BMW together, should be fun.

Great stuff MJ.
Mostly I do not believe the reporters, but I will make an exception in this case.

Thanks MJ, great report. I didn't like the styling of the bike when I first saw it, but it's growing on me now.
