Kawasaki is selling the KLE650 Versys at R75,000. Megabike in Randburg is selling them for R68,000. The Megabike units are grey imports or parallel imports or whatever it should be called.
My local Kawasaki dealer said I can have one for R72,000 but that's the absolute minimum they can go. And obviously they told me the usual stuff about grey bikes like no factory warranty, no recall notices, that they wouldn't trade a grey bike in, and all that crap.
My experience with Kawasaki workshops are not that great at all, and I will probably be doing most maintenance on the bike myself anyway.
Would you buy grey to save a few bucks? Can the dealers refuse to sell me service parts or spares? They have actually asked me for my KLR's VIN no. before when buying parts!!
