One of the guys at work has developed a work around for the route problem on the Zumo. Granted he is responsible for the development of a high tech missile?..but what the heck. :D

1. Create your route in Mapsource. This may be either using waypoints or the route tool. The file may contain more than one route.
2. Save the file as a .gpx (GPS interchange file).
3. Close Mapsource.
4. Open Mapsource and open the .gpx file. At this stage the route should appear as straight lines connecting the key points, not following the road at all.
5. Upload the file to the Zumo through the Mapsource interface.
6. Disconnect the Zumo and power up. It should say that it has found new data and would you like to import it. Select yes. If it does not offer the option, go to the user data screen in the tools menu, select ?import data.?
7. Select ?routes? and then select the route you want to import, select import.
8. Go to the ?where to?? screen and select ?routes?.
9. If you check the route on the screen it will appear to be the same series of straight lines you saw in Mapsource.
10. Select ?edit? and the ?recalculate?.
11. Select one of the options ?Faster time?, ?shorter distance?, ?off road?.
12. Select ?back?.
13. Select ?Go? to start navigating. :D
14. There doesn?t appear to be any easy method to reverse a route at this stage, we may have to set up two routes in Mapsource, one in each direction.

Not optimal, but at least you can use the unit for off road work now. Hopefully Garmin will sort out the bugs soon.
