Spoke to M today. He is back to his old happy-go-lucky self. Bit sore but recovering. Has only good things to say about his Uvex helmet. He really belives it made a difference.
Mine is on order.

bliksem thanks for all the best wishes, maak n man se hart warm

Still feel like I lost a fight with the Springbok scrum, but luckily no cuts and broken bones except for the rib and punctured lung.

Well fok my!! Just been on the highway and I think I braked for a car and the next moment the fork break and jam the rim and tyre against the fork....wham..bahm ...thank you mam, and I am on my back in a ambulance. Like a ghost jamming a stick into your spokes, it happened that fast......could not even finish o fok, and it was all over.

Other issue I had was Elsebie's 1200 gave me lots of issues with her ABS and servo's not working properly due to the battery being slapgat, the day before the bash I switched my bike on, and the servo's start running like mad and the ABS light keeps blinking and shows a red triangle. Thought it was the same shit, so I took the battery out, charged it over night and same happens next morning, servo's running like hell.
Well fok that, even the GS911 did not show a fault, and I had the same shit months ago in the Transkei and nothing happened, BMW designed the system to cut the units that's not working, and you only have normal brakes. I am still unsure if this also had a link to the broken parts of the fork.
The bike slide and hit the barriers, that impact could also have twisted and broke the ears of the fork, maybe by servo's locked when I tried to brake. Weeetie!

Sure we play columbo - we all like helping...  :mwink:

The business with the servo's sound suspicious. Michnus - did you not also report hairline cracks in a wheel hub a little while ago? Is it the same wheel?

(Columbo notes: A tall blond walked past my window. I knew she was tall, I was on the second floor...)

She came in to my office and gave me a burning kiss.
Then she took the cigarette out of her mouth and kissed me again...

Are you saying the fork just broke and caused the front wheel jam?

I am not sure, it either caused it or broke afterwards, will post more info when I can get to the bike and see what happened.
