My wife was overworked, gatvol and needed a break away from home, my father-in law was due to celebrate his birthday on Sunday and my bakkie was in the garage with minor issue.  A perfect scenario / excuse for a weekend at the in-laws with the beemers.  Wifey is still a bit tentative about gravel and thus I was booked for a weekend on tar.  Not a big issue since the almost perfect Western Cape weather and scenery this time of year tend to make up for it.  What follows is a photo overview of the ride from Saldanha to Clanwilliam on Saterday and back on Monday morning.

Getting read for the road

There is always this stop to make sure we haven’t forgotten something.

The sandveld between Dwarskersbos and Elands Bay. (There is this story about an Afrikaans guy from Dwarskersbos who tried to impress his English girlfriend by translating the name to Cross Candle Bush!!)

Real West Coast names!
