Awesome AirHead, now you can truly say she has been run in. I love the mud-work all over.

Showered, warm, dry and full of delicious supper.  What a lekker day!  Thank you all for coming along.  I always been nervous about doing this route in the wet.  It was pretty snotty in places, with sudden and unexpected lane changes being the order of the day.  I really enjoyed the mountain ride, even though it couldn't have been much above freezing up there.

Sorry about MildDog's bike - hopefully it will survive the ordeal.

Well done to the battle-cruisers.  It was very brave to bring those beasts out in these conditions and there's no disgrace in turning back.  Especially as the one was a demo from Droomers.  Big up to Johan!

Thank you, Sprocketbek, for your thoughtful offer of standby duties.  Thankfully we didn't need to call on you.

Shot Crossed-up for getting us together.  Was a great day of riding!  Really enjoyed it and was very glad to get home to my shower after the wetness of the day.

I waited for about 45mins on Hooggelee[at Koringberg], chatting to the farmer, what a nice guy. You guys did not pitch. I continued my travels and bumped into Stoetbul at Piketberg onestop, on his way back from a hunting trip. Cold, but what a day for riding.

The vids I will post over the next few days as they take a while to sift through the footage and then edit encode and upload etc.

The towing is surprisingly easy actually, always seen it been done and it looked hard though maybe I was just so cold I didn't realize it was hard lol

what an awesome ride.

I went back to mooreesberg and fetched my bike this evening, THANKS etienne for the trailer. It's parked safely in my drive way. And thanks n[]va for the tow, i think.

I had such fun today. Before I drowned my bike. that was the best ride i've been on. After the drowning it was adventerous/scary and more awesome hahaha. Towing is a lot easier than I expected, but n[]va towing is not for the faint hearted (eeek!).

Awesome! Will try to assess damage over the next few days... please let nothing be bent! (oh and the HID light is no longer working either. FARK.

And those videos are super-cool. I really hope the backwards facing camera caught me sliding and putting the bike down? In that section with n[]va's bow wave hitting me, just held on and waited for the water to stop.

Respect for you MildDog. Maybe you embody the real spirit of Adventure Riding. I sure hope
your bike doesn't have too much damage. I would have gone into shock if it was my poor KLR.

As for how you managed to keep upright while being towed by, what seemed like, a trigger happy
N[]vA? Respect!

This route is easy enough to be done with noobs on tow but yet it keeps on killing bikes and
seriously injuring riders. I still say that mud and water does more damage than any other type
of riding terrain.

This ride was to me a very good example of what wd rides should be like.  Everyone was in good spirit, we helped each other out where it was needed, we played more than just getting to a destination and everyone enjoyed it equally.  It wasn't all without problems, but thats life.  Makes it more interesting.  Milddog, hope its not a big issue to get fixed, you have kept extremely calm!  Dik rustig.

After a ride like this you feel proud to be part of this group.

(and i'm going to build an HPN before I die,  :drif:

A big thank you to everyone yesterday! Had a great time and rode continually out of my comfort zone. Michiel helped a lot with his words of encouragement and helping to get the mule started when she wouldn't kick. Great ride, great bunch of guys - a better way to spend a cold, damp Sunday you won't find.
