You Can Turn Off Super Tenere ABS
« on: July 15, 2010, 04:35:14 pm »
You can turn off your ABS without removing the sensors on the wheels !!

Watch this video....... It does work !

(1)Put the bike on the main stand
(2) start the bike
(3) click into 2nd gear
(4) rev the bike above 3000rpm until the ABS light stops flashing and remains a solid colour. The Engine management will come on.
(5) test ride it, it does work

To switch the ABS back on
(1) Turn off the bike with key
(2) Turn bike back on and ride away slowly for 30 meters
(3) The ABS light and Engine management light turns off

I'm going to have some good fun this weekend

a bit tedious to repeat every time you stop.
The three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40 and a hammer.  If it moves and it shouldn't, use the duct tape.  If it doesn't move and it should, use the WD-40.  Otherwise use the hammer.

 a rather simple technique .
the rear spins which registers an error between the front and rear wheel switching off the ABS.

I don't understand....why don't you just permanently disable it?

The STen has seriously wicked brakes, they would lock up really easy in the wrong hands...

I'm LOVING my Super 10. It's my new fav toy !

The Unified Brake System really does work well off road, just Don't touch your rear brakes first !

I'm looking forward to see if the traction control still works while the ABS is confused  and turns it's self off.

I would like more control over the rear tyre when entering corners on a gravel road. I like to lock-up the rear tyre and back it in and then give it HORNS out of the corner , like i do with my YZ.  :ricky:

We shall see what happens this weekend  >:D

The brakes are so awesome standard why would you want to turn them off?

Anyway well done on sourcing a way on how to  :thumleft:
Pass this way once!

How to disable the ABS on a BMW (or KTM for that matter) - press the "ABS" button...  :deal:

Sten so advanced that a simple on/off button cannot be used?

Sten doesn't need an on off button, it's easy to disable the ABS - come on man - just put it on the centre stand, start, shift into 3rd, accelerate, brake, accelerate, shift into 2nd, get on bike, rock forward, accelerate, clutch in, clutch out, accelerate, rub your tummy, pat your head, rock the bike off the stand and there you go - what could be simpler?
