Photo Safari
« on: August 04, 2010, 01:25:46 pm »
Hi guys.

I'm looking for info coming to SA sometime in November to do a safari (mostly for photography).
I have a BMW XChallenge and looking to ship the bike and ride through the safari.  Looking for any helpful info, hints, etc.

Hi and welcome. You are at the right place. Just wait and you will receive all sorts of info. Just for a start, let us know in what areas you intend to ride or what sort of photography you are interested in. Give us more info about your dream and the dogs will oblige.

Cheers.

I would like to go to Namibia and Mozambique maybe?
I heard those are nice countries to visit and are picturesque.  I don't know :bueller: I'm up for anything...

I've met a few saffers through my work, and would really like to visit....  Like I said, I don't have a gameplan yet, but I am certain that I want to go to Africa.  I don't care where I go really, because I will have a good experience no matter what.

Having said that, I am open for ideas, suggestions, hints, cautions..etc.

I can't wait to go!

Will your bike be coming by ship (Cape Town ) or are you flying over (JHB) ? What will your point of departure be? There are a number of threads on this forum about trips to both countries you mentioned. It is probably NOT a good idea to go to either of those countries in mid-summer as it gets freaking hot and Moz has some epic thunderstorms. Maybe some riding in SA is better until it is cooler. Go to the Ride Reports Board and check out some of the reports until some of the guys start to resond.

Hi D K !
You will certainly get plenty of info from the Dogs, but....

why not introduce yourself, as is custom, here on the forum?
http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?board=16.0

then we know where you are from, maybe what you do for a living, your riding experience, anything you like to add.

that info will help people give you advice!
Cheers
