Virgins for gravel no more
« on: August 23, 2010, 01:00:59 pm »
I was asked to plan a good quality gravel ride by my friend Kevin to break in a new rider, who has never done gravel before and I will be taking my anniversary GSA adventure on gravel for the first time.
I planned a tame coffee run for us. Coffee at Zuurberg hotel,shamwari,Ghio wetlands and Sibuya reserve.
So we gathered on Saturday morning with Kevin on his GSA, John with his ST1200 and me. Our first stop was the old Barkly bridge where saw a wild dog called Copperhead ,he was looking over the bridge and when we approached him he asked us if we had passed a KLR  as he lost his riding partner well we all had a chuckle as this guy was looking over the bridge :o. I hope you found your riding buddy.
On with the photos.
1+2=virgin St and virgin GSA (ltd)
3=admiring the view.
4= Looking for KLRs :eek7:
5=Copperhead

I prefer my GSA 2008 model on tar roads and enjoy the GSA2010 on the dirt; overall I prefer the GSA2008 model.

Nice photos.

The 2008 has more legs to it,the gear ratio on the 2010 are to close and cruising on long tar/gravel roads at higher speeds, the 2010 feels like like it's revving to high opposed the to the smooth 2008 at the same speed with lower revs.

Nice outing. Those beasts looks nice together.
Getting lost during an adventure is a relative term. It all depends if you're enjoying it.
