So it's off to Queenstown  :D

As 95% of the days this one also starts off nice and cloudy. It's not too cold though and as per usual I'm stoked to be on the road.

The pass going over to Queenstown takes you on the highest road in NZ. The view is great and one lone wind swept tree marks the spot.

Queenstown is a real classic beautifull town. It's really clean and full of hippies. I found myself broke and at one point  had only $5 to survive the weekend till the bank opens (I would find out later that the bank was open the whole weekend)

I took some of my last cash and bought a cable car ticket.

The lake has freshwater salmon and trout.

Took some time to go and explore the local mountain trails

with my low budget, the choice of food was obvious. Pilchards and bread. gave the bike some cover for the evening

Cold through the night. apparently -2. Great sunrise in the cold though

Went to do some exploring again today and decided to move camp to the other side of the lake. With all the luggage on the bike, the trail riding was quite a workout

Got a nice place to setup camp for the night. awesome views are hard to miss

Last walk into town to get to the bank. Petrol in the tank and ready to go to Dunedin on the lower East coast

Excellent stuff Newguy! :hello2:

I cant wait for the next edition!

BTW why did you choose to do this trip in winter? Would it have been better in summer?
