...and remember kids...riding is dangerous to your health!
« on: October 31, 2010, 03:47:32 pm »
Tuareg, Kreef, Goonrider and I went riding this morning in macassar for abit... and what a day it turned out to be, 1st incident, well not really an incident but it was scary, was blasting through the whoop sections in the bush, and next moment I see a black sangoma guy painted with white paint, stading with a spear like thing, right next to the road..needless to say when I saw that I just pinned it to get away, 1st thought I was hallucinating, but Tuareg confirmed that there was a ghost guy next to the road... africa's dangerous hey!

We were just about to end our ride, stopped for a breather before heading out, when I guy on a MX bike came upto us, he knew Tuareg was a doctor, and asked Tuareg to come help cause his friend's fallen.

We came onto the scene, and this is sort of what happened, the guy X, thought it was just one dune, and didnt know it goes down on the other side, before going up again, so he pinned it going up...this picture kinda explains what I mean

The guy, riding a old honda xr, with no real safety gear like chest/back protectors, was seriously injured with broken ribs, possibly broken back and leg, he couldnt move at all. So Tuareg came to the rescue again, authorising a medical chopper to come lift him out, couple of minutes later it arrived

They lowered down the medic guy, all credit to him, he was very professional and good with what he did.

Lifting the guy out on the stretcher

The poor medic guy had to walk all the way back to the main road, so one of the guys gave him a lift

Big up to Tuareg for helping the guy out like that!

Well done to you guys for coming to the poor guy's help.  One should always have a Tuareg or 2 when out riding.
Glad it wasn't you again, Etienne.

big ups to you guys. Meanwhile I think this photo could win competitions. Very emotive.
It's a friggin' motorcycle, it's not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The windnoise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you scared every now and then. Suck it up. -- Scary Gary Mc

Ouch!!  I feel for him.

This kind of thing happens every year on the Desert Run.

Well done Crispin  :thumleft:, yip the quarry where they mine the sand changes all the time.
So..... if you are riding around there, look before you ride and then go again when you know it is safe.
Guys if you ride it is always best to be covered with some kind of evacuation/medical policy.
It is not worth it , not to have one. :xxbah:

Etienne, did you try the extra added on loop we have been riding from the 2nd loop?
It has lots of turns, lots of loose sand that runs parallel to the beach?

PS it is getting that time of the year again when the Xhosa people do the manhood initiation ritual and that is the guys who you will see in the bush--- yip-- you crap yourselves when you see these guys all painted up and looking very rough

That may explain the lack of judgment on uncharted territory.
99.9% of the non circuit accidents that have happened at our MX track grounds have been alcohol related. :deal:
All accidents involving cages on the circuit were booze induced and at weird times of the day! :o
Last was a brand new Jeep... rolled off a step up jump... :imaposer:
