Wonderful site filled with information. My wife and I are headed to Namibia in July and we are hoping to donate a KLR650 to a local charity in the Windhoek area after doing a 10-12 day ride in NW Nam. The current plan involves ocean shipping a crate to Walvis Bay.

Am hoping to hook up with a local for guidance and get some great riding in...I am fairly active on www.advrider.com.

I believe the I am scheduled from Dubai on Emirates, so perhaps layover will allow time for some suds at the airport...I understand out of towners don't want to venture out alone. Damn shame, but I suppose the same could be said at LaGuardia if you head in the wrong direction.

Hi Mark--Sounds like you'll be up there before me. My ride slated to go July 3-13 from Walvis Bay or Windhoek. The plan is to do the NW corner and end up back in Okahandja.

metaljockey has a great Nam ride report on ADVRider.com if you haven't already seen it. Do a search for "goat meat" to find it.
