Some Pics from my time working in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in 2005. all taken with a old EOS 500n Film Camera nd then scanned to PC.

My first night as a a Game Ranger in the Kalahari and this guy came to say hi.

I stood by this old lioness for about 40 min parked no more than 3 meters from her and talking to her about life and everything that a 21 year old could think was important in life. I f I dropped down from mars and saw this lion I would never have thought they could hurt a fly. I left her there as I had to get back to camp and the pressing issue's of life...

I think I even sang to her at some point.......

You wont C it, but we just darted this boy on the butt cheek. He had been raiding cattle in Namibia 3 times before and we had to fetch, boma and relocate him 4 times before this. We traveled 11 hrs on the back of a bakkie from Twee rivieren to Mabua to drop him off........2 months late he was shot near Bokspits for killing cattle a 200km journey.

I followed this scene early morning. At the otherside of the dune was leftover Ostrich. Back then film was expensive for a student so I didn't take pictures of the whole scene, but the rest of the track dissapeared of a 4 m drop.Must have been like an action movie seeing it happen

Die kalahari is koud...
