I have found out there ain't no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.

Where to start I guess introducing the three stooges? Or maybe three musketeers? Either way lets introduce Grumpy, Speedy and Lurch, being Murray, Wayne and Martin. These three nutters ventured off into Namibia on three Honda 650 transalps, Grumpy and Speedy having a score to settle after the near tragic ending of their last attempt, where grumpy nearly killed himself and his bike just outside Matlahoe. And then there is Lurch who was not ready when we left for the previous trip and thus never made it, aside from driving all the way to Namibia with the trailer to get Grumpy and speedy home safely (more on this ride can be found here https://wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=48454.0).

So here we sit with three Hondas, two of which have done some extensive traveling into the Southern half of Africa and the other having extensively traveled the Western and Eastern Cape as well a short trip into Namibia. We also have a route planned which would minimise the travelling of tar, except where absolutely necessary (in hindsight we could and should have skipped the N7).

But the Honda's are showing some signs of their use/abuse Lurch's clutch slipping, My (Speedy) Chain and sprockets looking rather dangerous, and Grumpy's not far behind. So the Wednesday before we left the bikes were pulled into the workshop and the surgery began, new chains and sprockets were fitted the clutch was redone as well as a full service on each bike.

It should also be noted that the decision was made to fit Michelin T63 tyres onto the bikes to ensure the best possible offroad handling, lets just say my initial finding, seeing as I was the first of the three to fit them, damn they are lively on tar when new as are all knobbies. Update: Damn they are dangerous on tar when worn.

And now I shall leave you all in suspense for the rest, there are 9 days and around 4200km to follow. oh and to the guys with slower connections or bandwidth limitations there are a lot of pictures coming as well :p
