What do the fellow doGs think about converting a KLX 450 R for dual purpose use ?

These enduro bikes aren't made to do long distances. As soon as they're going high revs for long times, you'll have to be ready to spend loads on maintaining the engine.

Even during racing, you tend to throttle, brake, throttle, brake etc. While touring, you'll want to be doing 100kmph for longish stretches... Not ideal for these bikes at all.

Service intervals will be a hassle when touring.
