3 types of people in this world!

One bashed his head against the wall and learns nothing...
Next bashes his head and learns something...
The smart one learns from the ones that bash their heads...

I think Triumph have been very very smart!

But where's all the bikes then????
Not at the dealers?, not on the roads??

You will able to buy these mystery bikes in a few years with less than 3000kms on the clock,
At the moment they are ornaments ::) in their garages.

It'simple.........Triumph will most definitely not close BMW down anytime soon, especially in SA ,as has already mentioned most people will still opt for a GS simply because of the efficient service back up,strong branding and the "lifestyle" Motorrad has developed.Triumph will have a following especially with the new Tigers  same as KTM.
The KTM is an asolutely brilliant bike and I beleive the Triumph 800's will prove to be so aswell as I hear the motor which is based on the 675 unit is very reliable. But at the moment this is all our doggy (not dodgy) opinion.
TIME WILL TELL ;)

It makes sense that BMW will bring out an upgrade - while Truimph have aparently been sitting on their arses learning from the BM mistakes, BMW have themselves been selling bikes, making money for their channel and their shareholders, while providing a bike that customers clearly wanted, creating a perfect nich segment in the market.

Surely you don't think BMW are now going to rest on their laurels while the rest eventually catch up - the new 800 is due in 2012 - and then Triumph will be 'learning' again :D

most likely yes they will leave it the same, just add stickers and the std 800gs becomes an 800ADV

800 ADV, does not make sense. With the added goodies is will weight the same as a 1200.
