....on the tar or off-road?
Almost all the the road bike riders I see between George and Knysna don't wear ATGATT - sometimes a leather jacket, but that's about it. And in the summer months, you'll see a lot of riders - particularly the scooter brigade in shorts and T-shirts.
Regarding riders riding DS bikes, yes, quite a few I see are wearing jackets at least.
Now logic says (for me anyway) that you are far more likely to have an accident on the tar, because that's where almost all the car drivers are. Off-road, I very seldom encounter many cars at all.
So think about it - is all the ATGATT we wear to protect us in a fall off-road -normally our own "fault" - ie. no car involvement - or is it for when we have to ride the inevitable stretch of tar?
I guess what I'm saying is how come so few road bike riders don't wear full ATGATT when they are the ones likely to need it most?
