You can get the "for Dummies" books for Photoshop and Lightroom.  At your local CNA...

Ive just bought lr 3, you okes should stop stealing software by the way  :mwink:

I still prefer photoshop by far but for organizing and stack editing lightroom is neat

still learning it though here are some quick presets Ive been modding

I still use ps to fine tune though and whats neat is the cmd e function that spits lr image out in ps

But still trying to get into it

What photographic club do you belong to? Been concedering joining a club but I am not sure witch one.
I have been playing around but think the club thing might just exposed you to more things and the challenges Will force you to put some effort into it.

Thanks

These are CS3 edits, portraits from yesterdays wedding in Harties, was damn hot when I took the images in the field of sunflowers, the image of the bride was edited with a mild colour layer over a ps plugin by alien skin called exposure it a film emulator that is real neat.

I am not trying to justify pirating software, but the costs to SA are ridiculous.
Over R10k for Photoshop?  Which, for the amateur enthusiast is madness.  When a person invests that sort of cash, you would like to justify the expense somehow.  With our bikes the cost is justified as the pleasure we derive from them is priceless.
Unless our amateur photographers can start selling their shots for a profit, they cannot justify R10K for software.
I am sure that once a photographer starts making a reasonable profit from his/her shots, they will buy the expensive software.  Until then, piracy is the only way to get proficient with the package.
Bill Gates said that without early piracy of his OS, he would never have had the market exposure that he currently enjoys.

Once I started making money from AutoCad, I bought the product.  But I needed to become proficient to justify this very high cost and in the beginning, I used a pirate copy.  I still believe in the inate honesty in the average, reasonable person.

One thing I would watch out for with doing bleach bypasses is your sky and helmets/heads are blending a lil to easily together, maybe try bumping the contrast and exposure a few notices down.. possibly even recovery (edit: bump recovery up not down)

Thanks Hayleyscomet

I will get in touch. I looked at the Tafelberg club that meet in the Bellville area but one tend to get the feeling that you might struggle as a outsider to settle in and there is also monthly challenges which could challenge the creative juices.
