Dis darm maar 'n pragtige beemer so in rally klere & kleure!! 1150GS as ek dit nie mis het nie
Met carbs lyk dit na nie fuel injection.

Oooh vrek....ek het nie eens daai carbs raak gesien nie ::)
Currently owns: BMW R1200R & Honda CX500

The motor was more like 900 - based on the 850 short stroke version of the 1100 engine with higher compression.
The carbs were to eliminate the fuel injection system.
No ABS, no unnecessary mass.

Hyper special built by the Dutchmen  :biggrin: :biggrin: Engine was dry sump, can you imagine the work involved to get that conversion right with those vertically split cases???  :snorting: :snorting:

I don't know the 11x0 engines, but the earlier Airheads don't need to split the case unless you must replace crank main bearings.
Everything else is done through the other side cylinder - including the conrod big end bearing shells.

Yes, but these engines are wet sump, to cut off the sump and weld it up and re-machine the bearing locations etc and get the sump oil tight a mission.  :sip:
