Yo dogs

I'm looking at buying some gear. Boots, gloves, pants, protective stuff.

I've found some very good prices on amazon.com, especially with the strong Rand these days.

Thor Quadrant 2 MX Boot - Black - $150 = R1050. These go for R2000 at trac mac...lowest I've seen though is R1600 in SA.

Carbon kevlar gloves - $30 - R210. Gloves can be anything from R250+

Full body armor - $45 - R315. R600+ locally ???

So what I'm sinking about is:
1. There seems to be a $30 / R210 shipment cost. Will there be any other costs?
2. Is it really cheaper/better to ship from overseas? Why doesn't everybody do it?
3. Is it better to get everything in one order/shipment rather than separate?
4. Any positive/negative amazon.com experiences from WD's?
