Rentals- Johannesburg
« on: April 01, 2011, 02:16:28 pm »
Looks like me and Mrs Three Dawg will be heading south again this year to escape the Scottish winter for a while.   We plan to fly into JNB and spend some time in Botswana over about 2 weeks in November.

I've rented a few times now in SA, but having a spanking new 1200GS with a massive excess on the insurance is too stressful for me when the going gets sandy, so I was wondering if anyone knows of a reliable rental place in Jo'burg that would do older bikes (in good shape of course).

Cheers

Three Dawg

I can rent you a VMax (immediately available) if you're interested.
Otherwise let me know what type of bike you're after, what budget and I'll source it for you.

Well hell, a V-Max would be something on a sandy road eh? :o   Mind you, I could probably paddle one of those better than a GS.

Seriously though, many thanks for the offer, but on reflection I think I should stick to one of the normal rental companies (i just wondered if anyone had older bikes) and will probably go witrh SAMA in Pretoria.  Thet were good guys to deal with.

Ah, cheers for the link but a 650 is a wee bit cramped for the both of us.  Decided in the end go with SAMA in Pretoria.  Good guys we've used before.

I'm saying this tongue in cheek:  This was quite a useless post huh?

Jokes aside:  Welcome back to Sunny SA and enjoy your trip.  Wanna see the RR please.

Thanks, can't wait to be back.  This will be our fourth tour over there and it's been brilliant every time.

As for the rental, well, I guess there aren't any places renting out shonkers in Johannesburg.  Not to worry, worth a punt, will just have to be extra careful with SAMA's nice new 1200.
