Why do people pull away at robots with their feet hanging 1 cm from the tar?

Kannie daai kop nie.  I keep seeing people in traffic driving with their feet off the pegs when pulling away at traffic lights. And now this morning I saw a bra lane splitting like that for about 500m or so.  :eek7:  Dudes, put your feet on the pegs for crying out loud.
