Did this trip recently with a couple of mates, we had a basic idea of where we wanted to go but decided on the route each morning over coffee.
First stop - Breakfast in Swellendam
left-right Rob(Guns), Perry(sprocket boy), Chris(silver fox)
Worcester casino for refreshments
Nice winding road before the tunnle
Tieties bay .....no tietties  but the scenery is awsome
Spent the first night in Langebaan, consumed the local refreshments in accordance with 'the first night of the trip'
After a late breakfast at Captains(Suldanah) we set off to Lamberts bay
Perry(above) soon to be labled sprocket boy is blissfully unaware of the state of his sprocket
Another refreshment or two before second night at Lamberts bay
Rob catchng up on some needed sleep :headbang:
And then it happend......."When I accelerate the bike is unresponsive and makes a GRGGRGRGRGRGRGGRGGRRRRRR sound" sprocket boy
Handlangers dispensing advice
Thanks to Hein and Deon from Cape Town for arranging a spare sprocket on a public holiday AND getting their driver to meet me half way in Piketberg with the sprocket.
I volunteered the 300km round trip to collect the sprocket, on condition that Sprocket boy pays any fines I get.
So as Perry now preaches (in his Boksburg accent) 'China, check your sprocket every morning or you gonna pick up k@k hey'
View from round trip
Cool, now the sprocket is fixed we're in Graafwater, its 15h00 and we have to get to Calvinia. R364 from Clan William to Calvinia is nice dirt road, we pushed hard, had a few 'hairy' moments but got there in one piece. We stayed in a place where our room had a framed gold CD of Klipwerf on the wall, this obviously excited sprocket boy, who is klipwerf ???.
I was told by the owner that he only speaks english in self defence (he was about 60 but what a funny guy) and I got to practice my afrikaans.
Back on the road again, Calvinia to Sutherland...
Did the SALT touristy thing
Dop and n chop at the white house
Sutherland-Maatjiesfontein-Oudtshoorn - Swartberg pass - Mosselbay
Late lunch at Wilgewandel
Perry is still 'affectionately' known as sprocket boy, the worn sprocket is in the process of being framed and will be handed over to SB as a reminder of maintenance, but perhaps more importantly of how friends look after each other.
Thanks guys, had a blast !!!
