I admit it my troubles are partly my fault for being so rude and agressive to these people, but it just makes me so angry that I have to put up with it in the first place.  A big part of the reason I got a DS bike was to get away from the cops into the bush.  I now ride fast on the race bike, and touring in the bush on the BMW - the only way to go if you live here

jeez! i had a dream to circumnavigae aus, now i'll just have to circumvent it! what gets me is that many policemen have got an attitude when they question you, but when you ask a question they want to cuff you and do cavity searches! yes, you may ultimately get off, but spending even one night in jail with bubba...

Leon H,

A mate of mine was seriously thinking of moving to AUS.  Borrowed a bike from his mate (I forget which town) and him and his wife headed out of town into the country / outback.  While travelling for about 150 km he stopped and put in fuel.  Gassed it us to make up some time and doing 200 km/h a cop jumped out and pulled him over.  The cop said to him, you must be a tourist from South Africa.  My mate Geoff was taken aback by this and said he was.  The cop then said, only stupid South Africans would attempt something like that and want to have him arrested.  After much talk, the cop told him to return the bike to its owner and stay off biking until he went home again.  That was the last Geoff saw of AUS and still lives in East London, South Africa.

I agree that cops have attitude but sometimes they push the limits to get a reaction and when the reaction is more than they bargained for, they threaten arrest.

 I think it has to do with the small d#*k syndrome or the fact the prossies do infact have children.

Hope when you come to SA, you meet up with us and we can have a drink sometime.

Cheers
