SE dry weight = 185kg. Plus fuel (safari tank) = 215kg

ADV dry weight = 198kg. Plus fuel = 219kg

your maths is off. Safari tank 30l stand adv +/- 20l

10l is just short of 10kg
10l adds a third more milage

SE dry weight = 185kg. Plus fuel (safari tank) = 215kg

ADV dry weight = 198kg. Plus fuel = 219kg

Only advantage is the SE suspension. Admittedly superior. But who uses all of its capability anyway?

Disadvantages of the SE = many!

Don't need a Safari tank. Drop the twin ovens for an Akra and fit a rally tank on the one side back. Even with the rally tank filled a kg or four is still lost. Contents of both tanks together good for at least 350km range.

The SE owners don't feel the hard seat, wind buffeting and all the other so called shortcomings because the adrenaline rush cancell it all out. You either love it or you don't.

Harden the fuck up. :deal:

They're both very fine bikes.

If I had the SE, I would adventurise it.

I've got the Adv and I've SE'd it.

On reflection the former would have suited me more, but shit, the degree's of separation now are so small.

My next bike is the R and I'm going to do the same again.

Not to steal his thunder, but Camojoe is actually busy converting a 990 SMT into a SE - that would probably be the only 990 SE in the country.

19L standard fuel tank - no fuel problem anymore, no Safari tank needed.

Are you not the guy that brought in his bike last week because the hooter stopped working ?

try fixing the fuel injection.

The Se was introduced to attract the BMW owners, with such a very high seating  KTM thought the would then not need to stand everywhere :imaposer:
