Dad's happiest day!
« on: May 09, 2007, 06:06:46 pm »
The time has come for the youngest member of the family to get his own bike!

My friend told me the other day that my youngest son, Liam, told him that he thinks he will never own a bike, as his 2 elder brothers already own bikes, and he cannot imagine Dad buying another one......

So Daddy's heart got weak, and luckily came across a 2 month old Honda (what else?) CRF 80 F that the previous owner bought too big for his son.  So, it came up @ a good price with full kit, body armour, pants, shirt, helmet, the worx!

We parked the bike in his room...  When he returned from school, I told him to go to his room, as he had been very naughty, and wanted to see him in his room.  He couldn't understand what was going on, as he did nothing of the kind.

To him amazement, there was his dream bike.....his eyes just filled with tears of joy, and so did Mom's and Dad's!

What a priviledge to be able to give to a thankful child, as he really is a very sweet boy!

Here he is on his first training session....

And he soon got the hang of it....

Ai man! Te mooi!

Last weekend I mentioned the "idea" that my son might be ready for the real thing.

I'm still shiverring from the stares I got from skoonouers and mom.

Geoff NO - as a kid I would've been over the moon if my dad would've bought me a bike.  My brother had one - why couldn't I?

Stuff the dresses - get them those bikes if they want them......

I'll bet you all the other ladies on the forum will agree with me as well - especially those who ride regularly.

Geoff, I have 3 boys, aged from 10 - 17.  Obviously I adore them.

Let me tell you, I would have loved to have a girl, but I am sure that the Good Man upstairs knew I shouldn't have one, as I really would have spoilt her rotten!

Little girls are just the cutest things around....until start their shit at 13(?) I believe.....

so true, but it can be said that"unhappy parents = unhappy kids"

Well done Uil and I now the family will be enjoying all those wonderful dirt roads in your area.

Maybe sometime we should have a WD family day where all the kids can ride together and have fun like we do.  :)
