Can anyone suggest better shock settings for my 1200GS?
I am 1.9m tall and weigh 92kg in the morning after a dump and a shower.
I normally use the following settings on the standard suspension:
Solo, Tar
Front preload ring halfway stepped up
Rear preload adjuster knob turned to middle setting and progressive damping screw turned to middle speed setting.
Solo, Dirt
Front preload ring stepped up all the way
Rear preload adjuster knob turned to last line setting and progressive damping screw turned to high speed setting.
Two-up with luggage, Dirt
Front preload ring stepped up all the way
Rear preload adjuster knob turned waaaaaaay past last line setting until it can?t go no more and progressive damping screw turned to high speed setting.
The simple settings listed above works for me but I never know if it could be set better. I have tried slight variations but the differences seem to be minimal.
I never use the lowest/slowest settings because comfort equals slime IMHO?
I sometimes leave the settings on hard when commuting to work but my feet dangle off the tall bike at traffic lights and the ride is a little too hard for so early in the morning.
