This thread is dedicated to Geotraveller and to the Wild Dogz forum.  Without you guys, this trip would not have happened.

Overall, I found the region to be pretty fun and relaxing.

I want to explore more of it.

Who wants to do Angola, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya group ride? I'm serious.

Dogz, this is how I posted my ride report on a local Washington, DC forum.  I wanted to share it with you unedited... I think it might be interesting to you to read a report from Africa newbie point of view.

Great report, thanks, and I am so glad that all worked out for you.
They say that if the rains of Africa fall on you, you will return.
Seeing as you got rained on more than once, I guess - see you soon.
What would life be like if we had no courage to attempt anything ?

This is one reason why I need to be back.   :mwink:

I was rushing to get back to Joburg and had to skip that part specifically because the airline wanted an arm and a leg to delay my flight home to DC.

Awesome!!!

Hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty of saving one of your pics (Riding into the eye of the storm.  No where to hide.) and using it as my desktop background. Fantastic photo, makes you feel as if you are on the bike  :salut:

I only used the GPS for general direction, and looking for hotels.  Then, when in town, I would go ride around random roads.
