Eina! Have you seen this story - A KwaZulu-Natal motorcyclist driver has been fined R102 000 by the Scottburgh magistrate's court after he was caught speeding.
 Huge Fine

Must have been quite a sight to see this guy go down the road.

hey, dont be nasty!
when i still had my yamaha R1, i also took it to the other side of 290, just to see what it felt like - but i didnt make a habbit of it, i only did it once (on a nearly deserted krugersdorp highway).

let me tell you, at tthat speed the wind force wants to rip your head off even though you are ducking in behind the screen.
onother time my aftermarket indicator blew off at 240

Those speeds should be reserved for the track..

for your own safety, and of others.

it is like drugs.
it is dangerous and bad for you etc, thus it is illegal to use or be in the posession of drugs.
if speeding is so dangerous, they should ban the fast bikes and cars from our roads - easy!

dont tell me i'm allowed to have drugs/superbike in my posession but am not allowed to use it to its full extent.

im saying use it all you like.. just no where you can harm other people because of a silly self-indulgence act.

Do it on the track.. in a controlled environment where the ambulance is close by to scrape up the remains.

Took a spiced up kawa ZX12R to the 300km/h mark on the Worcester Robertson road.

Stupid and dangerous, I know.
Was asked by the owner of the bike to test his bike's top end speed.

At that speed you do 10km every 2 min.

It amazed me how stable the bike felt and its easy to understand why speed becomes addictive on superbikes.
Gewoontlik n@@i ek reguit aan op fyndraai.

i doubt any track has a straight long enough to get to that speed and lose all of it agin in time to turn into the corner at the end.
anyhow, i partially agree with you

i do (as can be seen) feel strongly about speeding ludicrously on public roads.
My opinion will not stop people from doing it (clearly)
I just felt a need and saw an opportunity to express my strong feelings..

My TL1000S could only manage about 270km/h but it was awesome when you reached the upper limit of the bikes speed.
My arteries felt blown wide open and my heart pumped away merrily. It was great!

I don't do things like that anymore - not since those pics on Rotten.com of the guy who was torn apart with severed limbs strewn accross the road and his skull ripped open. (was that a graphic description? wait till you see the photos!)

KE sorry but that argument doesn't wash, its similar to:
Quote
"Don't tell me I'm allowed to have a weapon but am not allowed to kill people"

I admit that I've also taken my bike up to its top end, and enjoyed it immensely, but open road, no other vehicles around and only for a limited time and while doing it I knew it was illegal and will not defend it because none of us has the right to endanger other people's lives.

These pics from Sweden - guy doing about 250km/h when the golf got in the way. Think that's what they're trying to avoid with the big fines!

I did 270 on a R1 i had, and while the speed thing was fun when I thought how little control I really had it was also the last time and the bike went to the shop, I must say I dont support that kind of riding on the open road
