Check the wiring going to the coil as well, wires seem to go loose at the connectors on the coil.  Already happened to three of my 690 friends.
Fixed it! Exactly where you said. Soldered it down. Problem solved! I owe you a jaegerbomb

Looking forward to it!

No doubt very nice desirable bikes.
Wonder what is the displacement ratio??
They all seem evenly matched in the "usable rev range" to me on the dyno unless you are running top speeds and most of your
riding is in the upper rev range. Usable as DS machine or more race orientated as they proclaim to be ??
Just my sixpence and no substance to it as I have never had the honour to even sit on such a "windhond".

Must admit
after riding the HP for so long, this is the first other DS bike that I have ridden that excites me.
It wont replace the HP but I will have a lot more fun in the technical and tight stuff.
Feels and handles like a 400 DRZ  Suzuki but with much more legs.
You can't compare the Dakar and XT660 . They are in a different  cat all together.

Wiring issue that we had on way to Pongola 500...

Indication: Ignition fuse blown (first fuse)

Problem: Hot connection inside the connector just below the ignition (remove the air box)

Solution: 950 SE tow in to auto electrician
