Bonnievale Offroad - Sat 28th May
« on: May 23, 2011, 09:36:55 am »
So which CT dawgs are gonna be there?

Anybody have any idea on what the course is like and how long a lap is?

I've just changed my entry from Social to Silver class. I had such a jol at Wellington that the 2hrs allocated to Social class was over wayyy to quickly  ;D I just hope I have the fitness & skills to get me through 3 hours, considering I have no idea on what the route is like.

Can't wait till the weekend, I'm loving this sport  :thumleft:

My bike is straight again just need some plastics and a silencer and I am ready to.

Very nice route fast and flowy. I raced it in 2009 not last year.

Hope we have enough rain this week for no dust, but not tooooo much that the course is flooded in the river section.

Schweet, see you there  :thumleft:  Yea, I'm hoping the dust settles nicely because I couldn't see much of the Wellington course once I got lapped by the pros  :D. Looks like we might be getting some more rain for the weekend as well. Just when I think I've mastered the sand, they change the course to mud  :D

Like some hate sand I hate mud, infact if it gets too bad I won't race. It destroys brakepads and bearings and every moving part on the bike.

Looking at weather now it looks OK for Saturday light rain.

I hear you. I was like that with marathon mountain bike races, refused to race in mud because it cost you a cassette and chain worth R2000 every stuffing time  >:(
Hopefully the course will be perfect, they needed the rain so it might have soaked in by then.

The old route we passed under the road twice just past the venue turn-off.

The route is not close to the pits, but with a DS bike you could get nice and close to some of the sections. :thumleft:
