Just come back from awsome ride. Let the Garmin take me shortest distance off main roads through Lydenburg to Bray border into Botswana. Perhaps should have stayed in SA side cause they have just tarred the section from Werda in Bots all the way to Bokspits Border below the Kalahari Gemsbok Park. Back into SA then up to the Rietfontein Border crossing into Namibia. Brilliant dirt roads all the way down to Ais Ais. Fantastic camp site and lovely riding area around Fish River Canyon. Next day dirt down to the Onseepkans border through the side of Verneukspan mostly dirt to Beaufort West. Then dissapointment as found Baviaans to be closed because of rain so navigated around on dirt and tar through Uniondale to Hankey. Next day rode through Patensie over lovely tricky dirt section to Otterford then onto Uitenhage then onto EL. All round 5 day trip fantastic 3200km of which 2200 was dirt and it could have been more. Met family in EL with Son racing track and hitched bike on trailer and headed home.
