For those that did not know, but might be interested, the 2011 Iron Butt Rally started last week Monday in Seattle, Washington. Leg 1 ended last night in Buffalo, New York.  Daily reports can be found at https://www.ironbuttrally.com/IBR/2011.cfm.  The leader at this point rode 5761 miles, including going to Alaska and back and visiting the capitol buildings of 8 states for bonus points.  There is a spotwalla page at https://spotwalla.com/locationViewer.php?id=67 showing the location of some of the 87 participants (none of the "big dogs" are on that page).

The 2nd leg started earlier today.  The rally ends Friday July 1, in Ontario, California after another checkpoint in Jacksonville, Florida on Monday.

Other places to try and follow what is happening (and read lots of speculation) is on ADV rider (https://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=699213) and this thread on FJRForum: https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=138716. The FJRForum thread has a number of IBR veterans and IBR staff contributing and is probably the best informed place to follow (but still lots of guess work :)). Lots of links to bike porn (of the LD kind) in those 2 threads.

Forgot to mention: unfortunately you have to register on the FJRForum if you want to see the pictures being posted in the thread (not the owner's choice, but a software "feature" he can't disable).
