And there I was this morning, wearing my toxic yellow Wilddog vest. Secure in the knowledge that I am highly visible to all cagers in my vicinity only to be rudely disabused of the notion when a cage nearly side swiped me close to the Buccleuch interchange. After uttering a few choice swear words as I swerved around him, I started thinking about how he could have missed this beacon of high visibility and then realised that the sun was the culprit. As you head for the bridge after the turn the sun is just about directly behind you, this ensures that any cager looking in his rearview mirror will be blinded by the sun and guaranteed you will be invisible. Just made me realise again that when you riding a bike you have to keep track of everything that may influence your own as well as other road users riding/driving conditions.
