Didn't see this announcement anywhere on the forum that I can remember, but here is the article from the Motorrad newsletter:

The date of the Great African GS Challenge will move one day forward to make better use of the Heritage Day long weekend, BMW Motorrad has announced.

?The Challenge will now start on the evening of Tuesday, 25 September, with Day One route riding on the Wednesday, Day Two on Thursday and Day Three on Friday, 28 September. ? says BMW Motorrad South Africa General Manager Lachlan Harris.

?This means GS riders have the whole of the long weekend to get to the Challenge, and arrive relaxed and rested. It also provides Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 September to get home safely for those who have a longer distance to travel.?

* Lachlan also announced the introduction of Orange Routes at the 2007 event, as well as changes to the Skills Challenge to level the playing field.

For more information on these developments, don?t miss the June issue of the printed Freedom newsletter (also available in .pdf format on this website.).

The newsletter is expected at dealers in early June.
