Remember the "Can of the Best"" add and the TV series?
The location is not in the Kalahari but Mabelingwe Game Reserve, North West.
The setting has been converted to a bar. This foto was some time back. About 5 years. No glasses. Only blik bekers. Bar chairs made out of bottom/top sections of those sink baddens. Very original place. Everything is old. Nice history display as well.
We stumbled on it by chance one morning when we took the kids for a early morning game drive to let the women sleep in.
They phoned us at 13H00 to enquire if we are still going to lunch with them at the restaurant!
Don't know if Bikes are allowed in Mabelingwe but if you are a visitor there, go look it up.
The management of the Ladies Bar at the resort complained that the Kalahari Oasis took their clientiele away, therefore they do not promote it on their brochures/website etc.
Sure hope it is still going.
