Vstrom 1000 Ride report - 19 May 07

Hi All

As some of you may know I have just bought a DL 1000 Vstrom
and being new to the adventure tourer ( ex - super bike rider)
"Pom" and I decided to go for a ride on Saturday before the rugby.

Well this is the bikes before we set off


We decided to do mainly road riding but wanted to do some off road as well
So this is the route we followed
- Left Roodepoort and went past Hekpoort, then through Magaliesburg
- Then headed up to Mountain Sanctuary Park

Ok Now some questions from us newbies
- When on dirt , do you deflate the tires at all
- Do you adopt a sitting or standing position
- If standing position , when do you place the
- weight over the front of bike
- weight in the middle of bike
- weight towards the back of bike

Ok we survived the dirt ;-) , and some pictures to prove it




Ok we then try to find the Gramadoelas pub, for a cold one - but to no avail

Then off to Pretoria and swing past swartkops raceway - in total a very
nice ride , and I am very impressed with the Vstrom
