KTM 640 ADV 2005 Pillion foot pegs
« on: July 19, 2011, 11:33:54 am »
Bought a 2005 Adv a few months ago and only noticed now that it doesn't have passenger foot pegs. The previous owner probably took them off for weight saving. He has since moved to Dubai.
The nagging of the missus wanting to join me on rides has me looking for some foot pegs and assembly now. Basically the entire foot peg assembly, including the triangular jobbies that bolt to the frame and of course the pegs.
KTM agents want just over R3000 for pegs and assembly! And note, the left side is more expensive than the right! No other bike shops store this specific part.
Any dogs out there who want to "reduce the weight" of their Adv? Or have a spare foot peg assembly lying around?
Financial/Alcoholic reimbursement up to 67% of the value of a new assembly has been earmarked.

I have a pair.

But they are in Dubai

Send me a PM. My wife is coming to the Cape in early August or I can look at freight.

Crusty,

I have managed to source a lot of parts online from KTM dealers in germany and the UK, at very reasonable prices, shop around you'll be surprised.

Thank you for the tips!
Went to the dealers again yesterday and checked the VIN number, it's a 2006 model if that makes any difference?
Axehead, would you happen to know if the ones you have would fit?

Mine were off a '99 bike that was turned into a rally bike. Not sure the rear foot pegs were ever used.

I will look at some on line micro fiche, to check if it is the same P/N.  ;)
