Just heard from my insurance company that they will insure the KLE, but only if:
VEHICLE SECTION - FACTORY FITTED IMMOBILISER REQUIREMENT
It is a condition of the cover afforded under this section that the above vehicle is fitted with a factory fitted anti-theft device OR a VESA-A
rated immobiliser and that the device is maintained and remains in good working order at all times.
VEHICLE SECTION - MOTORCYCLE COMPREHENSIVE - IMMOBILISER & ALARM REQUIREMENT
In respect of the above motorcycle, theft and hijack cover will be excluded, until such time as we are in receipt of the Certificate of
fitment/confirmation that the motorcycle is fitted with an approved immobiliser and alarm.

I very much doubt it, but does a 2006 KLE 500 have any factory fitted "anti-theft" devices?
No, did not think so.
I hate the idea of messing with the electronic ignition system, but any suggestion on where to go for a "VESA A-Rated" immobiliser AND alarm?
