This is very sad.  Met him at the last EC Bash.  What a gentleman.  Rest in peace.

A really nice guy.  I once posted something about a huge bank of stones in Baviaans.  He corrected my mistakes in such a nice helpful way.  I noticed after that how helpful his contributions to WD always were.
RIP

We knew it was coming unfortunately.... but its such a shock. :'(
My memories will be of e mails around the EC Bashes & my teasing of him for not doing ours :) We have lost a very central figure and a gentleman.

RIP Watty

Condolances to the family and many friends...

Kobus was passionate in every thing he did. He put me through my scuba course in the seventies at UPE. Then we lost contact and what a pleasant surprise to meet him in yet another passion of his, dual-sport motor-cycles. He told me that the last EC Bash was one of the positive things keeping him going in his illness. Again he approached it with passion and as Rynet mentioned, he put himself out to help the injured Dom. His legacy will live on in WD.

This is really sad to hear & read  :'(

I met Watty back in 2008 at EC bash - a kind, unassuming soul and a true gentleman.

RIP.  Condolences to the rest of his family & kids.
