but see, suv's are the car of choice of the rich, they are all luxury, and cost more by default ....c.l.e.v.e.r....

i have owned many 4x4's, but all where turbo diesel using a bucketload less fuel than the average doublecab or landcruiser.
i now drive a subaru forester with catylytic converter etc. although it is a 2.5 petrol, i bet it has fewer emisions than a 1400 polo that has no catylytic converter.

this sounds like a bullshit tax to get more revenue. the government coffers are suddenly running dry, so they have started focussing on green tax and increasing speeding fines as a way of getting more money out of the have's.
