MOZAMBIQUE VISA
« on: July 29, 2011, 11:59:15 pm »
Does anybody know the current status on where to get a visa for Moz if entering from S. Africa or Zimbabwe?
(for a US citizen) So, are you get the visa at the embassies in Harare or Cape Town?

I have heard that they are no longer issuing visas at the Tanzania border.

Thanks for the help,
Mike

  from Mozambique web site:  http://www.mozambiqueafrica.net/mozambique_visa/
 "Mozambique Visa - Requirements

All visitors, except South Africans and Malawians, require visas in order to travel to Mozambique, and it is better to have it all ready before you get to the border gate you can get a visa there, but it is not guaranteed; visas are issued at either the Mozambiquan embassy, high commission or consulate. You can get single entry visas or multiple entries. An official Mozambique visa is a green sticker which is barcoded, it will be stamped in your passport.

The charges for visas varies, you will pay whatever it costs for a Mozambican to travel to your country

So........ it is going to cost you and you might get it at the boarder.
Let me know what happens

Get them before you leave the US if you can. probably be less expensive and less hassle. Rented a bike to an American and he got his at the border, entered at Manica, cost him just around R 1,000.00.

Went through earlier this year. R 600 at Komatipoort. We had a couple of Americans going through at the same time, same price.

Depends on the official you are dealing with and how corrupt he is.
