Kadoef just be careful. If you have an old "green" license then no problem but if you have a new "white" license you are only allowed 200 rd of ammo per license unless you are a dedicated sportsman. It is a 15 year jail sentence.  :deal:

I checked- section 91 of Firearms Control Act, 2000.

May not be in possession of more than 200 rounds for the firearm for which he holds a license, but the limitation does not apply to hunters and sport persons or in respect of ammunition bought and discharged at an accredited shooting range.

1. Dedicated Sportsmen and Dedicated Hunters.
2. Not many shooting ranges sells ammo on the premises but where they do you can shoot as much as you want, but still can only have 200 rd in your possession off the range.

These with firearms say yes, these without say no ........
One question - what if you are in an accident, slides off the road and both bike and yourself is not visible from the road ,you have a broken leg and cannot move, when darkness fall, the "drosters" come and loot you of everything, next morning you died of freezing - answer - yes carry a firearm, and shoot the Fuckers, help will eventually arrive- even days later . Yes, this happened before.
Only a fool carries his gun on the hip, wear it on your breast, this is to be used as a last resort, if you are a trigger happy ou, then you have to carry the consequences in court - Pappa wag vi jou!

I carry my HP with me when we ride off road. It is in my tripper, for when someone breaks down and if someone falls and we have to wait for help.
You will not believe what walks around in the bush.
We have come accross cable thieves, illegal hunters and car strippers.
The long walk hame becoms very lonely.
The black tallons will sort it out.
I would rather be tried by twelve than carried by six.
When in doubt pin it

all these witty sayings...
"rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it"
"rather be tried by twelve than carried by six"

Where do you people come up with this stuff?
 ;D

PS/ We don't have the jury system in SA, so you wont be tried by six.

It is  yank saying and one day, just when I bought my house, people tried to break into my house and my firearm was in a friend's safe, because I did not yet have a safe.
Do you know how powerless you feel, whe four people are busy gaining access to your house with nothing to defend yourself with ?
Fortunately I had some thunderflashes, because I was still active then.
I chucked one behind them, from another window and that sorted it.
So you can poo poo all the sayings, but I will never be without my firearm again.

Some people believe that their debating skills will save them - even when someone sticks a gun in their face with the intention to pull the trigger ::)
