A chilly Sundayride.
« on: August 08, 2011, 10:55:25 am »
MissesL woke up from  her winterbikeslumber yesterdaymorning. :thumleft:
Lets go and look at some snow said I.

Namaqwaland?!! Nope it's the road to Cloetespass and Van Wyk'sdorp.

Turned off right just before Van Wyk'sdorp on the loop that runs around the town.
The power of water. Farmers lost a lot of soil here.

This on the road between Van Wyksdorp and Rooiberg Lodge.
I hear Rooiberg Lodge is charging R250 a night for bed and breakfast. Great place to stay over on a weekendtrip.

Just before Rooibergpass.

From ontop of Rooibergpass.

I wonder how old this vine was before they cut it down. My guess more than 50 years.

In Calitzdorp.

We had a great burger each at the Dorpshuis. Took tar all the way home.

The turnoff to Seweweekspoort.

We did 338 kms and it was great. I think summer is not too far away!!

Dit bly maar lekker om al die mooi plekke met 'n bike te besoek. Dankie Chris dat jy dit met ons deel.

The air is so clear up there. Nice.
1978. It's 6am, mid winter...two up on a XL 185S ... off to my first casino ever with all of R40 and we've got a full tank of fuel, so enough to get there we reckon.... that's determination...
