Some pics of the Lesotho trip i did in about 1999 with a buddy that came along for the trip. In a stroke of genius i had invested in a pack of Pratley's Steel Epoxy the day before as the BMW R80 sump is about as strong as an ostrich shell. Long story short the inevitable happened and i struck a rock while going slow, in the process losing most of the engine oil.
We patched her up, waited for the epoxy to set and decided to turn back as a cautionery measure. No oil visible on the dipstick anywhere but the oil pressure light went off once she cranked. We made it home ok and i decided to make up an indestructable sump guard after that. Lesson learnt! but it was a lot of fun.
