I phoned Spoornet, you can put your bike on a passenger train from Cape Town to East London for around R300...hop on the train, open a beer, get off in East London and ride new roads....and reverse this out getting home. Now I'm all for RIDING but when you've used up a lot of your annual leave riding the 29th parallel already in 2007, then this could be a way to get places new with not much sukkel. Has anyone tried this method of extending horizons?

Oh ja, you can do the same on the Jhb line, but why would anyone want to go there?

Pity they don't run this service northwards to 'Nam ! : (

C'marn, someone out there musta tried this recently...??? Speak up!
