Due to work load, i was not planning to do this trip, but some people can get very persistent :)
Thanks Rassie GS800, Ball&Chain, Briv, group pressure is a bitch!! :)

We started late, someone had problems fitting his new boots under his gear lever.
Here Flatout and Boffin is hiding from the rain

We were in danger of missing our tea with some Worcester dogs in Prince Alfred Hamlet, so we hit the road, but was held up even more when we ran into some stray dogs between Wellington and Ceres. It was nice meeting you Dodo!! SWEET BIKE!!!

We arrived late for the tea, but was quickly forgiven

Rassie GS800, Mnr Ys and V-Strom the hosts of the tea drinking ceremony

We filled up and went up Gydo pass, where we ran into the stray dogs again! Some seriously loose gravel, freshly graded, made life interesting up to Op Die Berg.

Ball & Chain turning off to Katbakkies

Briv following

So guess what, we ran into the same pack of stray dogs again, this time on top of Katbakkies.

Some more tea was taken. Stoetie the tea meister

What a lovely view!

The plan was to go up Oubergpas and then left to Middelpos.
The not-to-be-missed Oubergpas

Ball & Chain making the KTM work up Ouberg

And more .

Mnr Ys, notice the vultures on the left, cameras ready

Exiting the water, looking at the vultures with a FU expression on his face :)

Rassie GS800, the last one to make it through

From here, we pushed to Middelpos. Although we just went through a river, the thirst for tea showed clearly on the speedo. After over shooting the turnoff by some margin, we all arrived safely at Middelpos.

Some people used this opportunity to go shopping for provisions at the local Mall. We were running out of day light and had to push on again. The final few kilometres to the camp site was, lets just say, interesting :P

I was tired and not in the mood to stop and deflate my tyres, so just gave it gas! I was later reprimanded for this :( The block of flats handled it surprising well, besides it being hard work.
Unfortunately I hit a rock in the process which resulted in a bad cut on the front tyre. This only two kms from the camp site :(
Two plugs lasted about 800 metres, so we decided to just pump again and try and fix it the next day.

Mof doing his thing - Afvalpotjie

OK, lets rephrase AfvalPOT !!

The usual suspect

Taus Dakar monster

Saturday morning was spent fixing (attempt) my front tyre. Thanks to all the help and those who assisted :)  A number of guys disappeared to Calvinia to never return. Other arrived during the day. Some tried to make a dent in the bar. I could not see the dent, but a few people look dented :P

Three plugs, will it hold?

Saturday afternoon, time for the spit! Did I mention the amount of food?!?!

Because of this trip, Ball & Chain missed his hair appointment, but brought along all his girly things. Firecoast had some experience and helped him :P

At this point my camera went south and could not take more pics.
We were up bright and early (and cold!) Our group decided to split. Rassie, Mnr Ys, V-strom and Ball and Chain took the Middelpos/Ganaga route and Briv, Arfar, Boffin and Hope (? ?) joined me on a safer route, not knowing what my tyre is going to do.

About 5kms after the Middelpos turn off, my tyre decided to spit out all the plugs, resulting in a interesting time getting the bike to stop and keep it on the road at the same time. As I was getting ready to start plugging again, a knight in shining armour appeared in the shape of Bus! WTF!!!  :) Their backup vehicle was on its way and they are planning to get a tyre fixed at Calvinia Superquick. ChrisL already confirmed with the owner the Saturday that he has a TKC80 in stock for me. The bike was loaded on the trailer and off we went.

Calvinia Superquick

From here we left for Clanwilliam via Botterkloof. It was the first time I did this road and really enjoyed it!! The road became like the N1 high way closer to Clanwilliam as everyone was out doing the flower thing. We stopped just after the Wuppertal turn off and decided that we will push for home via tar. The crowded gravel roads were turning out to be somewhat of a risk.

Mof and team- what an event!! Thanks for organising and all the effort that was put in. My riding buddies we will ride again!!

1. Tau, die "main" man daar;

2. Mof ( the wonderful host) en Tau;

3.  From left to right "never trust a man in a leather pants" ( sorry don't know your real name); Briv ( with his trade mark hat); Horsepower and Piston Pete;
