Try and run start a DRZ, you'll be huffing and puffing in no time bru, ask me, I've tried it only to find out the fuse at the battery was fried!! ::)

Heh heh, yeah, a kickstart is a bonus.. Although, having said that, the huffing and puffing would have been there if it had a kickstart anyway, especially with the problem with the fuse.. There is however a trick to run starting any non kickstart bike, though the bigger the machine, the bigger the physical challenge.. The big DS bikes, need a second person as you can't do both push and start..
My DRZ has a filthy habit of running it's battery dead after a few days in the garage. Has a power drain somewhere, batt is new. I have to disconnect it to keep it charged if I am not going to use it for longer than three days. When it catches me, it takes a few seconds and it's running.. Though because the charging system doesn't quite get the battery up quickly, properly, I prefer to give it an hour charge before I use it..
are you using the kill switch to turn off the bike during rides? My battery started to fail on rides when i used the kill switch too much when we stopped, and someone saw the problem i was having and told me to use the KEY to turn off the bike, since then, i have never had a battery problem.

The previous owner of the bike lost the key or so he said. But that lead him to an auto electrician who wired the ignition switch, into the headlight switch somehow. I always use the switch to turn off the bike. I get the drift with the kill switch though.
I have since had a key made for the correct ignition switch and the next job on the bike, is to check all the wiring and to connect the correct switch into the circuitry. I know though, that there is something which is drawing current because if I disconnect the battery, it will stay charged for months.. without being ridden..

Heddles, you must add a tokkel switch somewhere between the battery and the first fuse, that will cut all power and will sort your problem, and will prevent someone from hotwiring it!

Yeah Louis...

I have a nice trick for that. Few 3 way toggles with a sequence for on, so that it is not easy to sommer start it.. All in the book of plans.. (",)

here is mine, still work in progress
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee

I bought this boney from Kykdaar and he also got it from a WD, was it DJ? It was delivered to my house while I was away on holiday! The bike is in excellent condition - can't believe it's a 2006/7? with 11000km on!

I added hand guards and a XR-type tail lamp and removed all the unnecessary black plastic parts. And right now SA has the foulest weather since 2006...

2006 model. 7900 on the clock..
The only thing that I don't like is the fact that this ouk didnt have a pressure cleaner so now the hubs and some parts are pretty stained. How do I get them clean?

WINN's mag-wheel cleaner. It's a concentrated alkaline. I use it on the hubs and brake calipers. Best to remove rim from bike and place flat on lawn then spray on and attack with old tooth brush.

Be careful with a high pressure cleaner. They can cause more trouble than they are worth. A mag wheel brush, I find very useful when I clean my bikes..

Does it damage the rims or spokes if it comes into contact??
