No, but by removing the wheel from the bike you are sure that you're not near painted or annodized surfaces which can be stained with prolonged exposure.

I bought this boney from Kykdaar and he also got it from a WD, was it DJ? It was delivered to my house while I was away on holiday! The bike is in excellent condition - can't believe it's a 2006/7? with 11000km on!

I added hand guards and a XR-type tail lamp and removed all the unnecessary black plastic parts. And right now SA has the foulest weather since 2006...

Maybe reviving an old thread or maybe it was a boring thread to start with..

Anyhoo.... This is mine, after a bath today...

2001 DRZ400E.. Imported from Mexico and dropped in my lap with a license issue. Sorted that out with another chassis..
So now licensed and registered in my name..

Between Utrecht, Luneburg, Wakkerstroom, less than 30km from Groenvlei - if you know the area :-)

Here's my DRZ with brand new hand guards and a diy wind screen I made yesterday. I posted a link to a short video which shows how to make the screen for a DRZ or DR650 here:  http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=12116.2340

A nice screen that! When I made mine my brother called it the Pope's Hat. Yours is a different take on the same idea. Just goes to show how people can come up with unique things all the time. Yours looks very neatly mounted too.

This one was installed on Geotravellers bike when he bought it from me.

Will do

I made small changes to the Fairing,

We tig welded the bracket to the bike, have changed the dash plate and some of the mounting points to make it more ridged, will take some other photos once the bike is clean and I have got rid of the Cow Sh-one-t that is covering it from Sundays ride. still playing with colours and lights.

Oh.... Forgot to mention.. Alzheimer's I guess..

Chassis change, headlamp new, after a rock off the rear tyre of a well known KTM 950 rider demolished the lamp on it's original light. Small LED indicators and a nice compact tail lamp assembly. Tapered bars and new handguards.
Love this little bike. Yes.. I ride two big KTM's.. But this little bike has the balls of a lion..

Hi

Here is what my DRZ looked like when I bought her

then after mtbiker got hold of her  :thumleft: ;D (his conversion is excellent!! makes a big difference in wind resistance plus it looks very cool)

And finally she is ready for the prom ;) - (still needs a few DRZ stickers strategically placed here and there)

The decals are not perfect but the next iteration (will be different design) should be better. Learnt allot what not to do ;)
